Multilingual Perspectives / Mehrsprachige Perspektiven
University of Mannheim, 9./10. Mai 2014
The two-day workshop "Multilingual Perspectives / Mehrsprachige Perspektiven" presents current research on bilingualism and multilingualism from different perspectives. It provides an interdisciplinary platform for contributions from linguistics, psychology, pedagogy and the social sciences that all centre on multilingualism. The contributions should focus on cognitive and/or linguistic as well as social and educational aspects of multilingualism.
The workshop comprises talks and poster sessions, keynote addresses as well as an outreach talk by Prof. Tracy.
Professor Jason Rothman (University of Reading):
On the structural and economic basis of transfer in third language (L3) initial stages and its implications for L3 development over time
Dr. Sharon Unsworth (Radboud Universiteit, Nijmegen):
Predictors of success in the language development of bilingual children
Prof. Dr. Rosemarie Tracy (Universität Mannheim):
Wie viele Sprachen passen in einen Kopf - und in die Schule?
After the talk by Prof. Tracy, we are hosting a practice session for educators and the interested public. For more information, see here.
We look forward to seeing you in Mannheim,
